Button only working in edit mode, not in live app

Hi all, I'm using a button which updates 2 sharepoints lists by patching values, which works perfectly in the edit mode of the app. When however publishing the app and using the live/real one, the button does not respond (it clicks, but doesn't function and does not go in disabled mode of autodisable on click). Have anyone experienced this before?

Are you using Forms - Edit & Display?

The data for Patch function, where are you getting the data for Patch function - controls in the Edit form or Display form?

Place a label on the screen to check the Form's Display Mode - Is it Edit or View or New?

Thanks for your response,

I'm not using a form, but (summarized) I am patching/updating data in an existing sharepoint list based on conditions in other lists.
