CUSTOM CONNECTORS: Making POST values optional?

Hello @v-xida-msft ,

I'm working through your recommendation here, testing some things out on a POST method.

Question:

  • My scenario also involves a POST request using a JSON body
  • I want to make some values in the POST body optional in PowerApps
  • I set them to Required-No and Visibility-Advanced in the Custom Connector
  • In the Custom Connector Test Area, I paste in the new "partial schema" (same schema as before, but with the optional values removed), TESTS OK (status 200, successful).
  • But, in the app, when I remove the entire set of (now optional) values from the JSON POST body, I get the error:
    • "Missing column. Your formula is missing column <value_I_want_optional> with a type of record."
    • "Invalid argument type. Expecting a Table value but of a different schema."
  • Likewise, when I remove one of the values from the JSON POST body, I get the error:
    • "Missing column. Your formula is missing column <value_I_want_optional> with a type of text."
    • "Invalid argument type. Expecting a Table value but of a different schema."
  • How do I make POST values in the JSON body optional?

Troubleshooting thus far:

  • Disconnected the Custom Connector from the app
    • Save/Close/Reopen
  • Reconnected the Custom Connector to the app
    • Save/Close/Reopen
  • Deleted and recreated the Connection
    • Save/Close/Reopen
  • Waited ~2hours...

Nothing seems to work. Ideas?
