Call a business central function from powerapp?

I want to call a specific function in business central to use built in functionality from powerapps.The function generates a excel sheet which i will then attach to email using microsoft flow and then forward it to my clients. But i want to do this using powerapp. What is the best way to do this?

Re: Call a business central function from powerapp?

@unaseerb ,

Maybe you can use something like this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/connections/connection-office365-outloo...

  1. In your oneDrive create the excel sheet with just the headers.
  2. Use that excel sheet inside your app to generate (patch) the data for it.
  3. Send the email with the excel sheet as an attachment

The only issue is I do not know for sure if you can attach the excel sheet to the email, but if you can then you use this flow.

Thanks for your response but the excel file is generated by the function in business central. I will then attach this excel file in the email using MS flow.

@unaseerb ,

Oh, in that case, Business Central can be added as a datasource and you should be able to access that function.

@ZabiBabar
Thanks for your reply but in the documentation there is noting about triggering a BC function. It would be really help ful if you can provide any example, as i am newbie in powerplatform.

Re: Call a business central function from powerapp?

Hi @unaseerb , I tried adding Business Central as a data source to test what kind of functions it provide but I wasn't able to. I am sorry I wouldn't be able to help further.

However, I suggest you create a canvas and Business Central as a data source. And then inside the a label text field type:

'Business Central'.

 This should give you a list of things Business Central and maybe you can find if it has what you want.

Good luck!
