Camera Control and Form

Hello Everyone,

I have an application in which I have to record payments which are sent to the customers,

So, I have a Form control and a Camera control, I want to save both of the information into a SharePoint Document library, because of the Picture control ( it can be saved in document library. ). I have a flow for the Camera control to save the taken picture into the document library, but I am having some problems

1) I am unable to save both the form details and its related camera picture with the same ID into Sharepoint.

2) The Camera isn't displaying in full screen to capture the picture.

Well @v-jefferni ,

I fixed that flow issue of Date Column by using this:

Text(DataCardValue4.SelectedDate,"[$-en-US]yyyy-mm-dd")

and as I said, I will create those two lists and construct a structure of my workflow, I have done that and now I have to do some testing. So, I will ask your help if I need Thanks

Hi @MH3 ,

Would you like to use camera control to capture pictures and save them to SP library with properties in the Form?

If so, for your first question, you could add an action of "update file properties", for detailed steps you could refer to this Shane Young's video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovLIwnj6QjU

For your second question, do you mean you would like to see the full screen camera so that user could capture pictures better?

If so, I would recommend you to use a Navigate on the take picture button which would lead users to a full-screen camera control page, then set the Camera control OnSelect with Navigate to return to the Form page with captured picture.

Hope this helps.

Thanks @v-jefferni  for your answer,

But I want to use (Add Picture Control) control now, and I am having some issues in saving my form details along with its associated picture in Sharepoint.

I have used the Update File Properties action, but I want to send the information of the form and give it to the flow and save it back to SharePoint.

1) I want to save the form details and the picture taken by the (Add Picture Control) in app and save it to Sharepoint

Note: I am not using Camera Control now.

I am having issues in flow,

flow eroor.jpgit says need a DataUrl, but I am getting something in create file: File Content (dataUriToBinary(triggerBody()['Createfile_FileContent']))

Error : 'dataUriToBinary' expects its parameter to be formatted as a valid data URI. The provided value 'appres://blobmanager/554e9cac962242d9bf9c46a27c53bf55/2' was not formatted correctly.

Any Help

Hi @MH3 ,

As per you mentioned to leverage an AddPicture control, here is another video from ShaneYoung:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QaiM8SeWfM

To resolve your problem of Flow, in short words, you'll need to convert that added picture to base64 format with JSON function first, then edit it to base64 only.

Below is my demo of setting a variable which is that Base64 picture when using AddPicture control:

Hope this helps.

Hello @v-jefferni ,

I have used the Camera Control Approach by using a different screen for the camera and return back with the image and I have successfully inserted the Data into SP List.
Flow Entry.jpgBut, I am unable to show the Image in Gallery  and the gallery is not updating in real time after creating a record, I have to refresh the datasource by using the refresh button again and again.

Image of Gallery.jpg

What's wrong I am doing here? and how should I update the details of the form when I edit the Gallery.Selected Record? related with that ID?

Any Help? @RandyHayes

Hi @MH3 ,

To display the image in Gallery, you'll need to set the Image property of that image to ThisItem.Thumnail.Large/Medium/Small

58.png

Then talking about the refresh of SP library, I'm afraid there is no way to improve the performance because uploading takes time.

For the last question, if you would like to update properties but not edit that image, you could use a SubmitForm function to achieve that, and in my opinion, that uploaded invoice would be non-editable at all, right?

Totally considered about your scenario, if you really want users could edit those invoice images, I think the best way to achieve your need is using SP list with attachments, and you could upload invoice image as an attachment and display in an inserted Image control in the Form, with the formula of First(List.Attachments). The Attachments control would make the image edit quite easily. You could still upload the image in Attachment control to library as a backup, using a Flow:

Please have a try, or if have any problem please let us know.

Hello Sir,

Yes your Code worked for the Gallery to show the image.

But I am confused in a problem would you help?

Hello Sir, @v-jefferni

Yes,  it worked I am able to show the Image in the Gallery.

Scenario 1:
Account's Department will Take the Picture of the Invoice (which is sent to the Customer) and input the details in the form and Submit it (a Flow will run which will save the information in the SP Document Library along with the Picture. )
Scenario 2:
When the Account's Department gets the payment from the customer, they will record the Deposit Slip Image ,Deposit Slip No, Cheque Date and Bank Account Number against that Invoice record.

Scenario 1 is working fine. But the pictures are showing Upside down, although the camera is hold still in correct position.

for Scenario 2, I am stuck because I will have to run the flow again with the Deposit Image and deposit information, it will then create a new record, but I want to create that against that invoice. (if you still have confusion ask me again.)

Any Help?

Hi @MH3 ,

Comprehensive consideration based on your description, I would recommend you to work with SP list. Since there would be at least 2 images which taken from invoices and deposit slips, you may create 2 lists, one for submitting invoices along with image details as new records, the other for storing orders that have completed with deposit slips.

Below are the steps:

1\ Create 2 lists, "Invoices" with columns of invoice image details, "Payment record" with columns of deposit slip image details And a LookUp column which looks up to the corresponding invoice list, both lists would be set to show Attachments field.

2\ In "Invoice" list, use Attachments control to take picture, save the image and send email to customer by that flow.

3\ In "Payment record", also use Attachments control to save deposit slip images. Since there is a LookUp column you could see a combo box in the form, users could select a invoice record in it. You could apply specific column in the invoice list such as "Customer/Company Name" or "Project" so that Account department could easily find the invoice record.

Not sure if this suits for your scenario, but hope it helps.

Thanks for your solution @v-jefferni ,

I have two lists for Invoices and another list for Deposit and its related images, I am actually doing a workaround here is that, I have two options in my application:

1) Invoices
2) Deposits

MainMenu.jpg
User, will go first to the invoice button and record a invoice of the customer and its related picture with the Flow and this information will save in SP List "Invoices"

Secondly, if the accounts department gets a payment (cheque against that invoice), it will go to the Deposit Button
and it will see a Gallery of the Invoices which were made before in that List of "Invoices".
Deposit Invoices.jpg
and then the user will click in one of the invoices for which a payment is received, and it will take the user to the Deposit Create screen to record Deposit information and it's related picture and save it into another list "Deposits"

Deposit Create Screen.jpg

The Invoice No, CustomerName and Branch fields are set to view and rest of the information will be inputted along with the picture and another Flow will run and everything will be saved in another List  of "Deposits".

is this approach okay for my problem? Please Advice
