Can we Open, Edit, Update word document directly from attachments without downloading it to local drive Using PowerApps? Actually I need to update a powerapp currently used for approvals.
I guess the closest you could get is to launch the attachment from an app, but thats pretty much what you dont want.
I don't think there is any way to view and edit a word document inside an app
Hi @zeeshanali ,
It depends on where the document is - if it's sitting in a document library online, then you can simply launch the user into a Word Online or Word App process from inside PowerApps - but based on your wording, I assume by "attachment" we're talking about emails, and we're talking about an actual attachment to an email, not a link to a document which is online - in which case it's not possible - simply because the document is inside the mailbox, not accessible to anything but an email query. To open it, from anything, not just PowerApps, you would need to download it from the mailbox first, then open it (this is what happens in Outlook as well - if you open an attachment, it first downloads it to temp files, then opens it).
Also, emails are generally read-only - so downloading an attachment, editing it and then re-uploading and re-attaching the edited doc to the same email is not easy to do, assuming it's possible at all.
