Can we use the "Microsoft Dataverse" connector to allow Flows be triggered from Model-Driven app?

I often create Flows for users to initiate from the Flow button in model-driven apps.  For this, I use the "Microsoft Dataverse (Legacy)" connector, "When a record is selected" trigger.  The word "Legacy" concerns me - is there anyway I can use the "Microsoft Dataverse" connector to initiate a flow from the Flow button in model driven apps instead?  I can't find a way to do it myself.  

Are there plans to deprecate the Microsoft Dataverse (Legacy) connector?  I'm trying to avoid finding myself in a position where I have to update lots of flows in the future.  I see this note on the Microsoft Dataverse (Legacy) connector docs page:

Good question. I actually had problems with the approach you use above.

Now what I do is set up a Business Process Flow and run the flow from there.
