Can you update a column in a table by changing a different one?

I have two tables: Building_Properties and Employees. The first table has properties for each building like whether it is open or closed, it's name, and its capacity. The second table has each employee's proximity to each building as well as the building they currently go to. I set up a form in my app to let users close a building. I want to make it so that if the building closes, any employee is assigned the the closest building to them. Example Employees table:

EmployeeBuildingCurr_BuildingDistance
1AA1
1BA2
1CA3
2AB3
2BB2
2CB4

If I close Building A, I want to update Employee 1's Curr_Building to B because that is the next closest building. Similarly, if I close Building B, I want to update Employee 2's Curr_Building to A. Is there any way to dynamically change the data when you edit a form?
