Cannot change field labels when using SharePoint lists

I want to alter the field labels on a dislpay form and no matter in what order I change or disable/re-enable the field labels and save, the field names return to their original value when I re-open or re-publish the app.

According to the article below, one should be able to change the label by disabling the field and then re-enabling it. I've tried this several times and in several different orders (e.g. edit field label, disable, re-enable versus disable, edit field name, then re-enable) and the field labels never change.

Has anyone else been able to change the field labels when using SP lists as your datasource?

I was able to finally change the field names by editing the Data Card property of "Display Name". If you edit the text directly in the form it will not save.

Hi @idcampbell,

I just tested with app created with SharePoint list, and I changed the display name of a data card successfully. Here is my steps:

Unlock the Data card > Change the DisplayName field > Under Properties, make the card "Invisible" and then "Visible" again.

Save the app and open it from other places, the Display name of the card changed.

Hi @v-monli-msft,

Its not the label of the data card I am trying to change, its the label of the fields in the Display Form. Even if I change the card's property to "invisible", change the field labels and then make the card visible again the field labels do not change when I publish the form.

I was able to finally change the field names by editing the Data Card property of "Display Name". If you edit the text directly in the form it will not save.
