Cannot submit form using sharepoint multiselect People Choice Dropdown

Good day.

I just read that PowerApps has an update last Nov 13, 2017, which includes the requested enablement of Multiselect value for sharepoint field.

I did not find any documentations online yet, maybe because it is new. but i manage to explore to try submitting a form using a People Field with Multiple selection enabled.

So here is the Column in sharepoint with multiple selections set to YES.

Then i created a simple PowerApp with A form that takes the required values, and set the People Dropdown into a Multiselect Control.

I went to the advance settings to change the Display value of the control to DisplayName, while the other settings remains the same.

And as i run the form, i can select multiple People values,

However, when i submit the form, i always get this error.

I tried it many times. Reset the form, re-enter the values and the multiple Owner, but i still get the error.

But when i set the MultipleOwners field to just use one value NOT as a multiple value, it can submit the form and save the data into sharepoint.

But i need the functionality to submit multipleowners and save the data.

This is a new functionality, and i cannot get it working.

Can someone help me on how to use this properly and submit the data successfully?

This is one of the most requested functionality in PowerApps, and we need this feature in our App.

Thank you for your help.

Yours sincerely,

Rommel

Hi @rommeldvo,

I tried to change the people choice column in the app like you did, but there are only 3 options for me to select. And after I select the View multiselect, the item data won't show as expected.

Though multiple value in SharePoint lists is supported now, I've seen in below thread stating that it will only work with Combobox control.

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/PowerApps-Forum/New-multiple-selection-option-in-latest-release/...

I have asked others about how to make this work and will update here once I got any answer back.

In addition, my version number is 2.0.720. Please check yours.

Hello Mona,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes,i noticed the change of the people choice property, the day after i posted my initial question.

I cannot find the Edit Multiselect option anymore.

Is the team currently making changes to this functionality?

I hope they can get it fixed and publish it soon.

Thank you,

Rommel

Hi @rommeldvo,

In addition, I noticed that the error you posted looks like the SharePoint has some fields defined as required, that don’t have a value when submitted. Can you confirm if there are any required fields on the SP list?

Also, you might want to remove the privacy information that you have might included in your screenshots.

Mona

Hi @rommeldvo,

In addition, if you check in below documentation:

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/custom-form-launch/

"These changes are rolling out incrementally for SharePoint First Release tenants and are not generally available from SharePoint yet. So, if your tenant is already on first release, you should already have them and if your tenant is not on first release, to enroll please follow the instructions here."

Please check if your tenant is under first lease in Office365 admin center > Settings > Organization Profile > Release Preferences.

Regards,

Mona
