Canvas App - Redirect to CRM Entity Record on Select

I need to redirect a user to the CRM entity form associated with the selected item within the Gallery of a canvas app.

I found the following:

     ModelDrivenFormIntegration.NavigateToMainForm

but I am stuck trying to figure out the recordId to pass to the function.

Basically I need to customize a sub-grid's look and feel to add a PDF clickable icon but still have the sub-grid (Gallery item) redirect to the associated CRM entity form like it would if it were not an embedded canvas app rendering the data.   I would use a standard sub-grid, but the clickable icon is not doable as far as my research can tell.

Re: Canvas App - Redirect to CRM Entity Record on Select

Hi @mcutchins ,

According to the documentation here:
https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/embedded-canvas-apps-can-now-navigate-refresh-and-save-th...

recordId – A required string parameter, that specifies the ID of the record to display in the main form.

What is the data source of your gallery?

Regards,

Mona

Re: Canvas App - Redirect to CRM Entity Record on Select

The datasource is an Entity but when I look at the properties available, I do not see any sort of "ID" to identity the item I have selected.  How can I associate the internal ID for the item when it isn't an option available within the datasource?

FYI, I am very new to Dynamics and come from a  SQL background...I am used to an ID column within every table.
