Capturing Name & Email Address from Sharepoint Name (Person or Group) field

Wanted to share one way I found to populate an email address column from a sharepoint names column associated email value.

Start with a sharepoint list with a name (person or group) and an emailAddress (single line of text) fields. In an associated powerapp, include both the name and emailAddress cards from the sharepoint data source.

Under your edit form, identify the data card that is associated with the Name field. Select the EmailAddress card, under the update property, change the value to the following:

DataCardValue10.Selected.Email

replacing the DataCardValue number with the one that is associated with the Name card in your powerapp. (Optional) Change the Visible property of the emailAddress card to false.

This way people can just enter their name and when you save the powerapp will ignore any value that might be in the emailaddress field and just save the email that is assocaited with whatever is in the name field.
