Cascading combobox is not updating value in sharepoint list

Hi,

I am creating powerapps and I am quite mad.

In my app I have two sharepoint list.

The first ist authority. In this sharepoit list I have columns:

  Name - single line text

  Authority - single line text

The second list ist named forms with columns:

Name of submitter - single line text

Authority of submitter - more line text

I have set my form to this properties:

DateCardNameOfSubmitter

ComboBox1

Items: Distinct('Authority'; Name)

Update: ComboBox1.Selected.Result

DateCardAuthorityOfSumbmitter

ComboBox2

Items: Filter('Authority' =ComboBox2.Selected.Authority) - This show me items from my list as I want.

Update: ComboBox2.Selected.Authority - for single item

ComboBox2.SelectedItems.Authority - for multiple items - for multiple items

Update for single item works well but I want to set it for more items but this does not work well because it does not update my data in Sharepoint list.

What am I doing bad?

Please help me.

George

@JiriS

Is your Authority column in Sharepoint a Text value?  If yes, you are having an issue because ComboBox2.SelectedItems.Authority does not produce a Text data-type.  Instead you would want to use the CONCAT function to create a text data type.

Concat(ComboBox2.SelectedItems,Authority & ", ")

To remove the extra ", " at the end of the string you could do this too.

Left(
    Concat(ComboBox2.SelectedItems,Authority & ", " ),
    Len(Concat(ComboBox2.SelectedItems,Authority & ", " ) - 2
);

Hi @JiriS ,

Does your Edit form connect to the second SP list (forms)?

Based on the formula you provided within the Update property of the DateCardAuthorityOfSumbmitter in your Edit form, I think there is something wrong with it.

The ComboBox2.SelectedItems.Authority formula returns a table value, but the Update property of the DateCardAuthorityOfSumbmitter data card is required to provide a text value.

I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround:

Set the Items property of the ComboBox2 to follwing:

Filter('Authority'; Name = ComboBox1.Selected.Result)

Set the Update property of the DateCardAuthorityOfSumbmitter to following:

Concat(ComboBox2.SelectedItems; Authority & ";")

or

Concat(ComboBox2.SelectedItems; Authority & Char(10))
