Changes to an editform in Powerapp Forms not reflecting the change on the sharepoint list

Hello community,

Will need your help again please.

I have an edit screen where a user can interact with this screen to add new values (i.e. Workphone or Mobile phone fields) to an existing record on a sharepoint list (source) or the user who created this form entry from new forms screem to modify a field (i.e. First name, Last Name, etc).

I noticed now, when I am making modifications on the Editscreen, the changes are not being reflected on the sharepoint list, specifically a field that is people/group field.

If a person selects a person : Michael S. on the new form. And then makes changes on the edit form to say Blank... or other person.. this field is not getting updated on the sharepoint list - colum shows Michael S.

Questions to sanity check the approach.

  1. Is the DataSource property of the Form, the same as the SharePoint list you're expecting to update?
  2. Is the DefaultMode property of the Form = Edit, or did you invoke EditForm(Form)?
  3. Is the Item property of the Form, the same row of the SharePoint list you're expecting to update?
  4. Is the DataCardValue control for People locked, or has it been customized?
  5. Are you writing back the change using SubmitForm(Form)?
  6. Is this an embedded app?
