Changing form mode depending on data in sharepoint list

Hi folks, so here's the situation:

I have a sharepoint list which I want to use to capture data called 'Learning Log 1_1'.

I have a PowerApp that then has a form linked to that sharepoint list. Simple so far.

What I want to do but am struggling with:

1. The first time a user goes into that form, there will be no data in the sharepoint list for that user and so the form mode needs to be 'New' to enable them to enter data for the first time.

2. Subsequently, when they user goes back into that form, the form needs to be in 'edit' mode, with all fields pre-populated with the previous entries from that specific user.

Can someone walk me through how this could be achieved please?

Thanks!

Re: Changing form mode depending on data in sharepoint list

Insert a button and OnSelect put:

EditForm(YourFormName)

You can also insert a Gallery1 and put the

'Learning Log 1_1' on the Items of the Gallery

Then on the form Items put Gallery1.Selected
