Are you using a SharePoint list as your data source? What is the column type? Is it a Text column or a Yes/No(check box) column?
As a workaround, I use a TextBox control instead of a Chart control. I have a Yes/No(check box) column in my SharePoint list. In the App, I use a CountIf function to get the number of Yes/No in the list. I add a TexBox on the App and set its Text property to: CountIf(DataSource,Yes/No=true). Then I would get the number of “Yes” in my list.
