Check Write Access to Sharepoint List

Is there a good way to check whether a certain user has WRITE access to sharepoint list when launching the app?

Nope.  The workaround is to create a new Sharepoint list with security roles and users.  You would the program the app to call the list OnStart, check what roles the current User(), and code your app to respond to the permission level you assigned.
