Collection Data is Blank

Hello-

I have a collection that is loaded (ClearCollect) when a screen is opened (OnVisible). I want the collection to only contain active records. Note that this is a custom entity, but for the sake of anonymity I will be using Accounts instead of the entity name.

When I set the formula collect all entity records, it works perfectly -> ClearCollect(ActiveAccounts, 'Accounts')

However, when I set the formula to collect based on status or status reason, I get an error.

So I'm trying to have it set based on a system view -> ClearCollect(ActiveAccounts, 'Accounts', Accounts(Views). 'Active Accounts')

I'm not getting an error message, but my gallery doesn't show any data. I know for sure that my database (CDS) has 42 records on that particular view. (record count is low because this is a sandbox).

My gallery is set to show the collection items, and it does show two blank rows, but the data itself is blank.

Any idea why? I've been combing through blogs and docs without much help.

Here are the resources I've tried to follow:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/create-update-collection

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/How-to-resolve-delegation-warning-message-on...

https://davidlozzi.com/2019/02/01/best-practices-for-working-with-data-in-microsoft-powerapps/

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/delegation-overview#delegable-data-sour...

Please help!

Hi @Duppong ,

The ClearCollect function syntax is incorrect.

If you want to filter the Account entity on status field, please try this:

ClearCollect(ActiveAccounts,Filter(Accounts,Status='Status (Accounts)'.Active))

Hope this helps.

It worked! Thank you!

Is there a resource I can go to and learn about syntax so that I don't encounter issues like this again?

Thanks!

Hi @Duppong ,

You can refer to the tutorial in this blog to learn the usage of Option Set, and refer to this doc to understand Filter function.

Hope this helps.
