## Combining two formulas

My formulas work well when they are independently used but when I put them together, they will not work.

Concatenate(If(_filter="",'ExpenseClaims', Filter('ExpenseClaims', Status.Value = _filter), With({varCurrentUserEmail: User().Email}, Filter(ExpenseClaims, 'Created By'.Email = varCurrentUserEmail))))

Hi @Lee11,

First of all, I think you can simplify your formula:

``````Filter(
ExpenseClaims,
IsBlank(_filter) Or Status.Value = _filter,
'Created By'.Email = User().Email
)``````
Secondly, what are you trying to achieve with Concatenate?
hey @Lee11
try something like that:
``````If(
IsBlank(_filter),
Concat(Filter('ExpenseClaims', IsBlank(_filter)), Title & ", "),
With(
{varCurrentUserEmail: User().Email},
Concat(
If(
IsBlank(_filter),
'ExpenseClaims',
Filter('ExpenseClaims', Status.Value = _filter),
Filter('ExpenseClaims', 'Created By'.Email = varCurrentUserEmail)
),
Title & ", "
)
)
)``````

If it did please accept as solution and give it a thumbs up so we can help others in the community.

Greetings

What are the 2 independent formulas that you want to combine and what are you trying to do? You're calling Concatenate, presumably to concatenate some strings. What exactly is it you're trying to concatenate?

Super User

@mmbr1606, how do you know that @Lee11 wants to concatenate the 'Title'?

Thank you, this simplification worked. I was not intending to use concatenate but tried everything possible.
