ComboBox DefaultSelectedItems not working in Gallery

Hello,

A few weeks ago we started to have problems with ComboBoxes. Before this we had no problem.

First issue we faced was the ComboBox not showing values. This is fixed in: Choices-Combobox-showing-Ids-when-only-wanting-Values-and.

Now we still have a problem with DefaultSelectedItems. When we fill in DefaultSelectedItems with a dataverse field (e.g. [ThisItem.TestColumn]) it doesn't work. See video gif for a demonstration.

For this message we created a new table and new app. We created the ComboBox with items ["Hi";"Hello";"Bonjour";"Hallo";""], created a value for the ComboBox and the DefaultSelectedItems is [ThisItem.TestColumn].

Version Powerapps for teams: 3.21055.27

Table:

The app:

In the attachment we uploaded a video showing the problem.

Are we doing something wrong?

Hi @AGL,

Do you mean that the Combo Box could not display the default value?

Could you please tell me that how you set the Items property of the Combo Box?

I have a test on my side, please take a try as below, please note that I have a Choices column in my Dataverse table, not sure that the data type of the TestColumn. Have seen the thread you posted, since you have a Choices column to populate the Combo Box, I will test it using the same data type as yours.

I set the Items property of the Combo Box as below:

Choices('Activity Type') // This is my Choices name

I set the DefaultSelectedItems property of the Combo Box as below:

ThisItem.Activity // This is my Choices column ndame in my Dataverse table

Note that the choices may have a totally different name with your real column name, so if your choices is named "A", but your column in your Dataverse table may have a display name like "B". At this time, you should refer to a correct column name.

Check the Gif as below.

Thanks @v-qiaqi-msft for your time and detailled answer.

We're not using "Choices".

The Items property of the Combo Box are:

["Hi";"Hello";"Bonjour";"Hallo";""]

The DefaultSelectedItems property is from a dataverse table with column name "TestColumn"

[ThisItem.TestColumn]

Even the below  DefaultSelectedItems property stops working after a reload of the gallery.

["Hi"]

We've tried your example with Choices, but we have the same problem.

The Items property of the Combo Box are:

Choices('TestChoices (Test)')

The DefaultSelectedItems property is from a dataverse table with column name "TestChoices"

{Value: ThisItem.TestChoices}
