ComboBox with two sharepoint lists

Hi PA Community,

I'm have two SharePoint lists, "SP_Requests" and "SP_Options".

SP_Options is a simple list that has Title and Description.

SP_Requests is a list that capture requests from users. It's got several fields, and one of them is a String called "Options".

I have a PowerApps app that uses a form to edit SP_Requests, and within a datacard for "Options", but updated to show a list of Options populated from SP_Options.

I managed to change the default Text box from the datacard to a combobox linked to SP_Options (Items=SP_Options), changing the Update property of the datacard to:

Concat(ComboBox2.SelectedItems, Title&",")

So that when SubmitForm is invoked, SP_Requests gets populated with the options selected in the combobox as a comma-separated string in the "Options" field, as expected.

Now, I want to show the selected options in the form when the Request record is accessed again, so that the user can add/remove options, but I can't get it to work. Not sure whether this is even possible.

So far I've tried:

Split(ThisItem.Options, Char(44))

In the DefaultSelectedItems property of the combobox, but to no avail.

We can change the "Options" field in SP_Requests from Single text to Multiline text, but we can't change it to Choice, because the list of options may change in the future, hence storing them separately in SP_Options.

Do you have more ideas how to get this to work?

Thanks.

-Guillermo

Re: ComboBox with two sharepoint lists

Hi @GuillermoTodd ,

You can use like below.

Split(ThisItem, ",").Result

Or

Split(ThisItem, ",")

Hope this solution resolves your Issue.
Thanks
