Combobox value into dropdown box

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to put the value or the item chosen in a Combobox into a dropdown box?

For example:

I choose the item "car" in a Combobox, and automatically that value ,"car", is placed in the dropdown box.

Thanks in advance.

@sr12

Sure, you just need to reference the value you want from the combobox selected record.

So, if "car" is in the Title column of the selected item in your combobox, then your Dropdown default property would be :  yourCombobox.Selected.Title

I hope this is helpful for you.

Item of DropDown:

ComboBox1.Selected

Default of DropDown:

ComboBox1.Selected.Value

@zmansuri

That would give you a single record dropdown - no other values available.

@zmansuri

No problem - cross-posts are fine.  My point was that your formula would produce a selection (assuming there is a Value column in the Combobox Items records), but the Dropdown would only have one selection and the default would be only that one selection.  Perhaps that is what @sr12 is looking for, but was just pointing it out 😉

Hi @RandyHayes,

Thank you for your reply,

My combo box is linked to office365users. So in the "Title" part of the function what should I put? And I want that user that is selected in the combo box to be the one selected automatically in the dropdown.

Hi @sr12 ,

Please follow the below code if it helps.

Combo Box:  Items - Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:YourComboBoxName.SearchText})

Add the search and Primary text by clicking edit as mentioned below.

PG_WorXz10_0-1629970241258.png

Now make the below changes in Dropdown items.

Dropdown Item -  Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:YourComboBoxName.Selected.DisplayName})

hi @PriyankaGeethik,

Thank you for your reply,

I have already put the function for the combobox to be: Office365Users.SearchUser({top:999}), and I added your equation to the dropdown box to be: Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:ComboBox2.Selected.DisplayName})

But its not working, the dropdown box is still empty and did not get the selected value of the combo box.

As shown in the attached picture, the first box is the combo box and the second one is the drop down. When I chose "Accounts Department" in the combo box, the value did not get reflected to the drop down box.Screenshot (8).png

Hi @sr12 ,

It seems you are using Department values. If you are using non user values from office365Users please distinct them as there can be duplicate  departments.

So I would suggest below code :

ComboBox   Items : Distinct(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:YourComboBox.SearchText}),Department).Result

DropDown
Default : YourComboBox.Selected.Result
Items : Office365Users.SearchUser({top:999})

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.
