Configure gallery to show all available choices

Hello,

I have a desk reservations list that includes a choice column allowing users to select a desk. I want to display all the available desks (unbooked) in a gallery, have the user select one and be taken to a new form where they can make a booking. This would prevent double booking.

I’ve spent a lot of time going around in circles with researching this because I am unsure of the mechanics to achieve this.

Can I sort or filter the column in PowerApps or do I need a second list to hold the desk names and their ID and put this info into a collection?

If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be most appreciated.

Kind regards, Vicki

Hi,

I think you can achieve that with a couple of boolean fields, like Being Booked and Booked. In this way you would filter your choice on Booked and Being Booked and could set Being Booked to true when you take the user to the booking form and Booked to true when the user confirms the booking.

To filter the choice:

Filter ( Table, Booked <> Table.Booked.Yes || 'Being Booked' <> Table.'Being Booked'.Yes ).DeskName

This is what it would look like (ish) with Yes/No Dataverse fields.
