Connect Gallery to Form Error

Hello Community,

I am recently new to Power Apps, and have built a canvas app that connects to an excel file on my OneDrive.

I have completed all my steps, but now I am trying to connect my Gallery to my form as shown in my image

I selected the Forms Card and went to the Property section and selected Item and then in the formula I enter Gallery1.Selected, but I get an error

Error details Power Apps.png

Can anyone help me resolve my error please?

Thank you in advance

Claire

Yes, what is your Items property on the Gallery?  It must be based on Abartlett if you are going to try and edit an Item in the EditForm (which is based on Abartlett).

@ClaireAllen What is the DataSource of "Gallery1" control?

The data source of Gallery1 and Form1 control should be compatible with each other (Should have same fields/columns).

Hello @RandyHayes

@ClaireAllen

Well, so far all looks good.  Your datasource is ABartlett on both your Gallery and Form - all good.

Things to try:

1) Refresh your datasource ABartlett in your datasource list.

2) Cut your EditForm off the screen (ctrl-X), then do an undo (or ctrl-Z) to bring it back.

Also, have you been making any changes to the datasource since adding it to your app?  And, you did add the datasource as a OneDrive Excel file and it is in your Personal OneDrive?

Let's see if any of the above trigger any flags.

@RandyHayes ,

Step 1 completed - Refreshed by Datasource

Step 2 completed

Yes I did my datasource as OneDrive Excel file, but its not on my personal OneDrive as this is a business flow and I am not able to connect to my personal OneDrive via my Business Connection.

The excel file does have multiple Tabs, does that make a difference, my understanding was that I could connect my datasource for each tab?

I appreciate your help with this,

Thank you & regards

@RandyHayes ,

It's not an issue, thank you for coming back to me.

I've reconsidered the way I work with the Excel File and PowerApps, instead of using a Power App form, we are continuing to use an excel spreadsheet, and a Power Automate that updates a SharePoint List.

Kind regards

Claire
