Connecting Form To Data Source Creates Data Cards Missing DataCardValue Control

Selecting a Data source under Form Properties creates Data Cards for each field in the data source (SharePoint list).

Each Data Card has the following controls/issues:

  • StarVisible: Error - Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognized.
  • ErrorMessage: Error - Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognized.
  • DataCardValue: Missing
  • DataCardKey: Error - Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognized.

  • I have a Gallery on the same screen pulling from the same data source which is connecting to the data successfully.
  • In the form properties, the Item is Gallery.Selected.
  • In the form, the DataCardKey is displaying the correct value for the card.
  • After the form was deleted, a new form is now including the DataCardValue control (with errors)
  • All lists from the SharePoint site cause the same errors in the form
  • Within this app previously, I have created a form from a SharePoint list successfully. Now, a new form using the same list produces errors (while the existing form is working).
  • The details of the errors identify the same items:
    • location. e.g. StarVisible1.PCFTeamsTheme
    • invalid use of '.'
  • Created a new app, connected to the SharePoint list and successfully created a form control.

@pa_user ,

This is an in-built Power Apps function - there is no other function to add them automatically other than the one you are using.

Try creating them again (delete and add as new field value). The error is because there is no Value control.

You can add the control manually, but that is another subject and you should not have to.

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

Each control in each datacard is throwing a name error. The details of the error identify the same location. e.g. StarVisible1.PCFTeamsTheme. I can't find any documentation on what a PCFTeamsTheme is.

I've updated the original post.

@pa_user ,

Did you create this app, or are you trying to fix it?

PCFTheme is a Component FrameWork reference.

I created the app.

@pa_user ,

You did not comment on the Component reference - I assume you have installed one in the app. If so, this article may of use to you.
