Connecting to Linkedin and importing Linkedin data

Hi, I would like to connect to LinkedIn and make available certain profiles of MS colleagues (based on their consent) within the app I am creating. How do I connect to and import profile data from LinkedIn to display in a PowerApp application? THANKS!

Re: Connecting to Linkedin and importing Linkedin data

Hi @Tatjana,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to connect to your LinkedIn account from your app, and display a certain of profiles of your MS colleagues within your app?

I have made a test on my side, if you want to connect to your LinkedIn account from your app, and display a certain of profiles of your MS colleagues within your app, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently.

The LinkedIn is a Action data source, it only provide three available functions -- ListCompanies(), ShareCompanyUpdate() and ShareUpdate() function. There is no function supported within LinkedIn connector to retrieve a certain profiles of colleagues in your company.

More details about the available functions supported within LinkedIn connector, please check the following article:

LinkedIn connector

If you would like this feature to be added in LinkedIn connector, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

Re: Connecting to Linkedin and importing Linkedin data

Kris, thanks a million for doing the test. My idea was that the app users (MS employees) would be able to view professionals profiels of a specific pool of MS resources, understand their expertise, background, experience, etc. . Instead of creating a profile form for each person and feeding it into the app from Excel or another source, I wanted to use their Linkedin profiles, that woudl be displayed within the App, i.e. imported into the App (I woudl first ensure I have their consent to do so).  In addition to profile viewing, I would have functions like select person/contact person but these would not be done through linkedin but wihin the app. HOpe this helps clarify the scenaro,.
