Create a custom view?

Hi Team,

My app currently has a gallery that pulls data from SQL Azure, is there an easy way in PowerApps to allow users to create custom filters/views of this data?

e.g. I log in and I only want to see rows 1-10, whereas user 2 who I have shared the app needs to see rows 10,12,15,35,40-45 which he will have to configure himself.

I am assuming some sort of multi-select list control object plus a write back into SQL with PIDs or something?

Cheers!

Re: Create a custom view?

Hi CharlieK,

Per my certain knowledge, it seems that it is not possible to set up a custom view for different users and store and keep persistent between sessions.

Please consider to create a feature request on PowerApps forum, so it might be taken into consideration in the future releases, other customers who have the same request will vote your idea at here:

I will also collect and report this from my side.

Best regards,
Mabel Mao

Re: Create a custom view?

Hi CharlieK,

I am using User function to create a custom view on my app.
I set the Items property of the Gallery control as:

If(User().FullName="mabel",Filter(Entity1,"aaa" in SingleLine),Entity1)

However, there are only several data in my data source. If you have many data, it may be difficult to configure the code.

Hope this could be a reference for you. I am still trying to figure out a better workaround for this.

Best regards,
Mabel Mao

Re: Create a custom view?

Hi Mabel,

Thanks for this, what I'm trying to achieve is allow different users to customise their own custom view and somehow store and keep persistent between sessions.

Thinking about just hard coding some of this in the meantime : /

Cheers,

Charlie
