Create an app with relationship data with Sharepoint?

I read an article here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/northwind-orders-canvas-part1

to build an app with the relationship data with CDS.

I want to build an App like that, like a CRM to manage Orders, Products, Customers...

But I wonder can I build it with Sharepoint and what is the difficulties I encountered if using Sharepoint were databases instead of CDS.

I am very concerned about this issue, looking forward to the dedicated answer

Re: Create an app with relationship data with Sharepoint?

HI @carem ,

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think PowerApps could achieve your needs. You could generate an app based on your SP List data source.

Please refer to the following video for help:

More details about the difference between CDS and SharePoint, please check the following article:

http://powerappsguide.com/blog/post/excel-vs-sharepoint-vs-sql-server-vs-cds

CDS and SharePoint are both delegable data source in PowerApps, in terms of delegable functions, operators supported in CDS and SharePoint, they are different.

In addition, the CDS is a buil-in database within PowerApps, which would have an advantage on data process speed than SharePoint.

Hi @carem

I dont think the Sharepoint and the CDS have very significant differences. However, please reference to this article that help me before:

And see if this helps.

Re: Create an app with relationship data with Sharepoint?

Thanks for both answers.
Both answers indicate that at the present time, the Azure SQL server is the most likely option if an app developer knows how to use SQL queries.
I want to ask more about the cost, in my opinion, SQL Server is still much cheaper than CDS right?
