Creating a repeat event every x days/weeks/months/years in a SharePoint List

Hello,

I have a tricky one here, I have a PowerApps calendar, where it creates an event with start date and end date. I have an option for the user to repeat the occurrence.

I would like the user to be able to repeat the event using these values:

I need to find a way of being able to duplicate the event every X Days/Weeks/Months/Years and end this repeat Never(capped to 20 years) or after X amount of occurrences.

Sorry for the bad explanation.

Kind regards,

Kyle

Where are the events stored? Are these outlook appointments or something else?

Apologies should have mentioned this.

At the moment they are just in a SharePoint List as follows:

Title

Start Date

Start Time

End Date

End Time

Category

Description

All Day

Email Reminders

Create Reminder

Make Recurring

Created

Created By

Recur Every

Recur Frequency

End Recurrence

Great, I have built something very similar with a Dataverse back end that creates a row in a custom table using a flow

I've logged off for the evening, but will share the details of how I did it tomorrow AM

That would be amazing thank you!

OK, I've found my flow

the basic steps are

Initialize 3 variables

  • Event Start (taken from your app)
  • Event End (taken from your app)
  • Current Event Date (initialy same value as your Event Start)

within a do until loop do the following:

  • Create an event on the current event date
  • increment your current event date by the number of days/months/years from your app

do until the current event date is greater than the end date

It's a Friday, zapped from work I'll have a crack at this Monday time and pick your brains if struggling.

Thanks @SBax

No worries my friend! Have a great weekend

Just noticed you are in England, I'm in Scotland so we can grab a call next week if you need anything
