Current value of lookup field not shown in embedded powerapp

Hi guys,

I have created an embedded powerapp which I hosted on the contact entity. The app contains a form currently which shows a few fields from the contact record. All fields are shown correctly, except the lookup field "Rol". It's a lookup field that related to a custom entity "Contact type". See the attached file for an overview.

I tried different formulas to have it filled by default but with no success. The dropdown does contain all the right values but the default is just not getting filled for some reason.

One of the formulas I tried is:

LookUp('Contactpersoon types'; 'ContacttypeID'= [@ModelDrivenFormIntegration].Item.Rol)

The only way I got it to show something is by doing a lookup to the name of the contacttype in a different text input (Label1):

LookUp(Contactpersonen;Contactpersoon = [@ModelDrivenFormIntegration].Item.Contactpersoon; Rol.Naam

and the using the Name returned to filter the lookup input:

Filter('Contactpersoon types';Naam = Label1.Text)

But I think I am missing something, there must be a much easier way to do this?

Help would be appreciated!

Re: Current value of lookup field not shown in embedded powerapp

Hi @Ibrahim ,

Is there any error information with your first error? Which property did you put it in? Do you want to set defaults property to show the value by default?

I have made a test, and it works fine. So I suggest to work with current entity, and modify your first formula as below, use another column to judge condition(I use the Name column in my test)

  • Set DefalutSelectedItems property as :

LookUp('Contactpersonen'; AnotherColumn= [@ModelDrivenFormIntegration].Item.AnotherColumn).Rol
  • And Set item property as:

Choices('Contactpersonen'.Rol)

Best regards,

Sik

Hi @v-siky-msft ,

Thanks for your help. Your suggestion worked. I used the GUID on both sides.

Kind regards,

Ibrahim
