Currently my custom control within PowerApps is not able to connect to any of the datasources I have tried:
On premise SQL
Trying to create a reusable gallery control across multiple screens that all connect to the same datasource but I get the red squiggle line underneath my named datasource when trying to set this within Items under the Gallery.
#1 Have you successfully connected to the datasource? Please show a screenshot of the datasources in your left-side menu.
#2 Can you please show a screenshot of your code?
Both of these are necessary to solve the problem.

Thank you @WarrenBelz and yes more specifically, a sql server backend and the gallery is inside a Component.
The datasource connects fine in a screen
But does not connect in a component.
The error reads: "Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognized"
@WarrenBelz thanks for the tag, not sure about this one though.
@dgDHG , are you using a component as a gallery, is this correct? I've yet to create my first working component so totally flying blind, but I didn't even know they could be used for this? Do you have a link to a blog or YouTube video to reference and I could have a look at it.
All I know about components, based on forum posts in recent months, is that anything other than basic components eg headers, sidebars, etc seems to break.
That appears to be the case that the controls are limited in functionality at the moment.
For example, if I add a gallery or datatable to a control and try to
within the Items source, bind that to say a SharePoint List or SQL DB,
it simply does not work.
I believe this is outside of the functionality but did not want to assume.
