Custom command bar button not working

Hi,

when I'm trying to click a custom button that I added to the command bar in my model-driven app I always get the same error: "There was an error retrieving your formula. Please make sure your formula has no errors." I tried different formulas, but that did not help. Any help would be appreciated.

It worked without publishing all customizations for us. All Environments are fine now 🙂

Same here, we have a lift off again.

Thanks people for your hard work and solid communication!!

The "Publish All Customizations" indeed fixed it for us as well.

And now I received an update from Microsoft:

There is another update on the known issue that we were investigating.

We have successfully validated and deployed a fix for the issue.

The root cause of the issue was a recent update, to enhance the way in which host information is passed within the apps, which resulted in a regression that’s causing a dependent script in the process of running apps with custom commands to fail.

After deploying the fix, we have confirmed that apps with custom commands that have newly made changes to the commanding library are no longer impacted. However, apps with custom commands that have been published and edited prior to the fix may still encounter errors.

For my Enviroments, all Custom Commands are working now. I guess the last sentence of the statement can be fixed with "publish all customizations".

@jk100 as I assume, that most of the work is done here, you may mark this tread as resolved?

Seems that the command bar buttons have started working again in our production environment. Still not seeing the resolution in the sandbox environments. No response from Microsoft other than to gather more info to pass it on to the right team.

I've heard colleagues running a Publish All Customizations from the ancient eeeerm classic UI:

Maybe it works for you, maybe not. Worth the try, right?

Seems that clicking publish all customizations helped: visibility rules work, did it in both, sandbox and production type environments

Same here. Buttons work in all tested apps.
Thanks for the fix.

In my solution, after re-publishing all customizations and clearing the Edge cache the fix only works partially:

I have a buttons on main grids, subgrids and forms. When I'm navigating to the grid/form the Visible and OnSelect rules work as expected. (e.g. the button is hidden with the 'CountRows(Self.Selected.AllItems) > 0' Formula).

After clicking the Edge "Refresh/Reload" button, the form/grid page is reloaded an the buttons stop working. They are always visible and clicking throws the "Formula error..." dialog, if using PowerFX. Javascript always works.

Anyone else experiencing that?

In my case, the botton does nothing, I created a custom cotton so that there would be a side dialog box, executing a java script, but it does nothing, checking the information from Microsoft, I added the command checker that tells me that the button is not in the library components.
