D365 Custom Entities Server Timeout Response

Good day

I have come across an error all of a sudden where my custom entities are not being reached. I made an app that retrieved data from the Cases entity and from a custom entity and the data from Cases was retrieved quickly while the custom entity is receiving an error.

Both entities are in the same environment.

This was not an issue before but seemingly is now.

Please advise

Hello. I logged a support request with Microsoft and their suggested solutions were rather helpful.

In your Power App, if you go to 'Settings' > 'Advanced Settings', there are 2 options you should select:

  1. 'Explicit column selection' (allows PA to only select the columns from a data source it actually uses)
  2. 'Improve data source performance & CDS views'

These 2 options really helped me. They also mentioned that you should use the entities more often so it would trigger dynamics auto tuning.

Kind Regards

Same issue here, started last Saturday (28/2), sudden timeouts towards custom entities in D365.
