Data-driven navigation in Canvas App

I would like to use a gallery for navigation, keeping the items in the gallery stored in a database.

I created a table for an item, the item description, and a screen to navigate to, when the navigation arrow is clicked.

I can bind the gallery to the table no problem, showing the item and its description. But I need to convert the string that comes from the database representing the screen name to a Screen object with that name. Is there a way to get a reference to a screen by name so I can pass to the Navigate function? Currently, using the name of the screen does not work. The Navigate function expects a Screen object.

Any pointers?

Thanks!

Hi @MS-Santi

Currently there is no way to convert string into Screen object. One way would be to create Collection when your app starts (OnVisible property) which will hold information for item, item description and screen object to navigate to. Refer below link for more details:

@Sachinbansal, that's a well written blog with screenshots and code that can be copy+pasted.
