HI,
i use my onedrive.com excel source, I share my app, but if user clic to share link. It want to login to my onerdive.
I dont want to give my login informaticion.
What can I do?
Hi,
The way PowerApps handles connections and sharing with Onedrive is :
- you create your connection in your app with your credentials
- you share the excel file in your onedrive (button share then add the user emails)
- you share your app
- user use their own credentials to connect to onedrive and access the data in the file you shared
Look at the following article : https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/share-app-data/
Hi Matthieu,
That doesn't work for me. I've tried it with Dropbox and OneDrive (for Business), but I can't make OneDrive work. In Dropbox it's as simple as sharing the folder with an user, and voilá!
But with OneDrive it's crazy. I've tried sharing the folder, sharing only the file, setting the other user to "colaborator" in the app, giving total control over the folder / file in OneDrive. And nothing happens. The user can view the records, but he can't write. "Cannot write file to filesource" is the error.
The only workaround I've found is to login with MY account in the other user's connection to OneDrive.
I'm just astonished how bad Microsoft apps integrate with each other.
I am having the exact ame issue. When sharing the app the user must sign-in using their own account and the app fails because it does not find the file in that usrs One Drive account.
Is there any awareness or plan to fix this?
Same issue here. I've created other apps that worked fine. Comparing the Patch function from my new app to those apps shows no difference in syntax or structure. Yet, this app cannot update a connected spreadsheet stored in OneDrive. Bumping this thread to try and get a response.
This is a shocking state of affairs TBH. All Powerapps I create that rely on a shared resource such as OneDrive are dogged with this same issue.
