DataSourceInfo and Common Data Service

It seems that the connector for CommonDataService does not set flags:

  • DataSourceInfo.CreatePermission
  • DataSourceInfo.DeletePermission
  • DataSourceInfo.EditPermission
  • DataSourceInfo.ReadPermission

This information would improve a lot user experience by hiding buttons, forms, etc. according to their permissions.

Do you plan to implement this feature for CDS connector ?

Re: DataSourceInfo and Common Data Service

Hi @jbecker,

Have you tried to configure the permission under Common Data Service?

Re: DataSourceInfo and Common Data Service

Sure I did 🙂

One of my colleague has restricted access (only READ privilege). In the Apps, I used DataSourceInfo.CreatePermission and so on, to set the Visible flag on "+" button (and similarly for edit and delete buttons).

He sees the buttons, however, when he submit the form, he obtained and error message (because he has only the READ privilege in CDS).

As the documentation mention that connectors that do not provide values for these functions will have a default value to True, I strongly suspect that the CDS connector do not implement these "functions" 😞
