Datatable double click detection

Hi All,

I have made double clickers on data tables in the past, due to a bug which fired the onselect property twice, I would have to count the click tracking variable up to 4 to confirm the user has double clicked. I am trying this again today on a new SharePoint list form, but now I am finding that I need to double click the datatable field in order to get the onselect property to fire once. I could work around it firing twice but I am at a loss as to how to work around it not firing at all on a single click.

Does anyone else have this issue? Has anyone figured out how to make a double clicker under these conditions?

Thanks in advance
