Date Ascending Order

Hi there,

In the middle of posting, I realised that his was a SharePoint issue however thought I'd seek advice here regardless.

I've been building up an app that includes a gallery. One item in the gallery is a date field.

I sorted this column by ascending, in hopes of getting earliest dates first however the ordering seemed off.

I've now checked the SharePoint column and discovered this:

The field is formatted as a date so I'm extremely confused how the ordering has decided to work... any ideas?

Hi @CameronTCD ,

The issue you are facing is that the DueDate is a calculated column and shown as Date Format. You can go to List settings to check the column type.

There are two workaround.

1. Since calculated columns are sorted from left to right in alphanumeric order, change the Date Format to yyy/mm/dd, then in Ascending order Gallery will show the earliest date first.

2. Create a New Date column and copy/paste Date values into it, then it can be sorted by date order.

Hope this helps.
