Date and Create

Hi Guys,

Wondering if you can help as this is driving me insane!

So from the app it passes 2 Dates 1. Order Date and 2. Required by Date

Ok then i want to create an item in sharepoint so i use a compose function FormatDatetime with a dd/MM/yyyy at the end

And i get the error

But if i use FormatDateTime with MM/dd/yyyy i get no errors, it creates the item in sharepoint with a date of dd/MM/yyyy

but then the date in a send email function shows as MM/dd/yyyy,

i guessed at regional setting in sharepoint which are set as UK and thats admin settings for the whole site.

Any ideas?

You will get better help on the PowerAutomate forum BUT...

Any time I am adding a to a SharePoint list or comparing to a SharePoint list date column I need to have it in the

formatDateTime(DateField, 'yyyy-MM-dd')

format. I am in the US so it could be different for different regions.

The way you can easily figure out how it has to be is to add a item on your SharePoint list that includes the date (from the sharepoint list). Then create a temp flow that is just a button and does the 'Get item' or 'Get items' and put a compose below it that you just select the date field from the dynamic content. Run the flow and then see how the date in that compose section is formatted. That will show you how it is formatted coming out, which is how it will need to be formatted going back in.
