Date picker ISBlank not working as expected

Hello,

The label holding red "star" should not appear as I am referencing a check on  the date picker right beside it. ISBlank should return false and not true. I double-checked the date picker name.

What am I  not seeing?

Hi @nemanjasovic011 ,

I don't know what will be best practise and performance application for this in theory if You hit a blank record the Asterix should work but if you really want that additional protection and You don't care about performance you can replace the formula with

IF(IsBlank(LookUp(ActiveLAFRequests, ID=ID_var,'Bottling Date')) || IsEmpty(LookUp(ActiveLAFRequests, ID=ID_var,'Bottling Date')),true,false)

And see if that will help

Regards

I think that you re ggeting it wrong 😄

If it datepicker is blank, it will return true. If not, it return false.

Try this:

If(!IsBlank(BottlingDate_1.SelectedDate), true, false)

Ok, I agree but the same formula is giving the same result when the date is not selected. (!?) ... and thank you.

Hi @nemanjasovic011

On the Picture You right now showing Date picker is blank so IsBlank value is true and Your formula changing property of the visibility of the Asterix to true so its visible.

What behaviour You expecting than ?

Regards

If(!IsBlank(BottlingDate_1.SelectedDate), true, false)

Dont forget the "!" before is blank

Tou can also try this:

If(IsBlank(BottlingDate_1.SelectedDate), false, true)

I am expecting red asterixis to show when blank and to not show when the date is selected. Asterix is showing now in both cases.

Both conditions, when blank or not blank evaluate to same outcome regardless of '!'

Hi @nemanjasovic011

use only

If(IsBlank(BottlingDate_1), true, false)

Remove .SelectedDate and make sure the Date Picker is reset after form is submitted if this is form.

It is not working - It has to do something with resetting the date picker , I am only changing screens. What is the best way to reset this control...

I have attempted reset(Bottling_date1) on exit screen but still, the condition evaluates the same for control having the date and not having the date.
