hi,
i am a bit of a starter with power apps and struggle with the connection of dates between powerapps and excel.
I have an excel table with a date column. Its properly formated in excel as date.
However, if i create an app around this excel sheet following happens
1. the dates of already entered data from the excel sheet will not be shown in the text labels / tables in powerapps (but in excel these date cells are correctly formated and shown as dates)
2. if i change a date in the excel form via a datepicker in an edit form of the app, the date format saved in the excel sheet is yyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ . No matter how i configure the date picker, even if the time option fields are deleted/not visisble its still always trying to save the hours minutes and seconds. BUT this is corrupting the excel date data....
3. after editing as per above 2, these datasets with the strangely saved format will show in the apps overview / text labels / tables etc...
There seems to be some general missunderstanding between excel sheet and app, but i cant figure out where to look.
Obviously i would prefer to have the correct date format for excel to work well and the connections with other programs will work fine.
Thanks for your advice!
Hi @Jasper1234
Take a look at Shane Young's video about Excel as a datasource. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtmZM3tm2Zs I think he addresses a few date/time issues in it.
