DatePicker Control and Buttons Scrolling with screen. Possible bug?

Whenever I add a new section to my app and run it for some reason the Date Pickers and Buttons 'Stick' to the screen. Is there a setting I'm missing or is this some sort of bug?

Before scrolling occurs:

After scrolling occurs:

Re: DatePicker Control and Buttons Scrolling with screen. Possible bug?

Hi!

If the buttons are not scrolling, it could be that they are not nested correctly in the scrolling container. It's likely that they are directly on the screen, instead. Make sure you are inserting the controls in the correct location.

If you are looking at the reference that @v-monli-msft posted, it may help clear any confusion you have.

If you still have confusion, could you post the steps you took to add the buttons to the scrolling canvas? This would help determine what is happening.

Thanks!

Re: DatePicker Control and Buttons Scrolling with screen. Possible bug?

Hi Dan,

I tried to create a similar app, and after that I cannot reproduce your issue.

My app looks still normal after I scrolled down. Make sure that you have added the scrolling screen in the right way:

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/add-scrolling-screen/

But I should mention that I created my app using the SharePoint connection and let powerapps created it. I have a date trye column.

Regards,

Mona

Re: DatePicker Control and Buttons Scrolling with screen. Possible bug?

Hi

I do guess that the DatePicker maybe inserted outside of Scrolling Screen DataCard.

So, before inserting, please click to ensyure DataCard is selected and then insert.

Otherwise, it will become a static object.

I have experienced this whenever forgot to click the DataCard before inseting.

Have a nice day.

Re: DatePicker Control and Buttons Scrolling with screen. Possible bug?

Greetings all,

i too have suddenly developed this problem on one screen of one of my  latest PowerApps efforts... and it's bugging the CRAP out of me because I'm doing EVERYTHING that is being suggested and the (**bleep**) button just won't "embed" into the datacard-as-container:

I click or otherwise select the target datacard which I want to also possess a button which scrolls WITH that datacard's other elements;

I select Insert > Control > Button

RESULT: the Q@#$%^& button STILL shows up at the TOP of the form, half over the header bar and half over the frm control !

WHISKEY  TANGO FOXTROT !!!!!

What ELSE can i be DOING???

Re: DatePicker Control and Buttons Scrolling with screen. Possible bug?

OK - here's how development REALLY works (and you all know it's true)...

I got STUCk with  this same @#$%^& problem...

I beat my head against the wall trying to understand the root cause...

i read FORUM postings...

I perused PowerApps Community discussions...

I even read the PowerApps DOCUMENTATION...

... but no luck.

I read the beginning of this post which (annoyingly) reminded me to select the datacard-as-container for the button I wished to add: thanks dad - DID that.

STILL NO LUCK - the **bleep** button still DIDN'T show up as part of the CARD 😠 !!!

THEN, after I exhausted ALL my technical experience and technical know-how and technical troubleshooting...

..my wife (of 26+ years) came downstairs, and announced she'd just been on a single phone call so long she killed her phone...

AND SUDDENLY I REALIZED I HAD NOT YET "UNLOCKED" THE DATACARD CONTROL !!!

I selected the control, UNLOCKED it, and then copied/pasted the offending button into the container..

... IT PASTED IN PERFECTLY.

Yup - wife-killing-phone-with-epic-long-conversation-stimulates-epiphany-that-container-control-needs-UNlocking.

Intuitive, don't you think? 😉 But this is how development REALLY works sometimes (all the time) 😉 ...

Hope this helps everyone else who's NOT-QUITE-GOT-THIS yet.

UNLOCK YOUR CONTROL BEFORE INSERTING OR PASTING.

Cheers,
