Deep Linking

Scenario - I have a leave application with 2 forms:

(1) Form 1- to seek approval for leave request

(2) Form 2 - to seek approval to get timeoff for extra hrs worked

I want to provide deep links to these two records for the approver to take action.

I was able to create a working deep link for Form 1 by following the online forum and also the videos. This is my code:

Apps - OnStart:

Code:

Set(varEmpID,Value(Param("EmpID")));
If(varEmpID<>0,Set(varRecord,LookUp(LeaveRequest,ID=varEmpID)); Navigate(DetailedRequest3));

Send button on Form 1:

Code:

Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(varAssignTo,"Action-Leave Request of "&varRequestor, "A new <a href='https://apps.powerapps.com/play/d7497616-4c59-445d-912c-aa191ff3a797?tenantId=xxxxx-axx-xxx-8cac-xxx... request</a> is pending your action.");
Navigate(HomeScreen_Employee);

However, when I tried to tweaked above codes to create deep links for both Form 1 and Form 2 by adding in a new Param("Screen"), the new codes didn't work. Below are the codes that didnt work. Would appreciate any help to troubleshoot:

Send button on Form 1:

Code:

Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(varAssignTo,"Action-Leave Request of "&varRequestor, "A new <a href='https://apps.powerapps.com/play/d7497616-4c59-445d-912c-aa191ff3a797?tenantId=xxxxx-axx-xxx-8cac-xxx..." &varEmpID& "&Screen=Leave'>leave request</a> is pending your action.");
Navigate(HomeScreen_Employee);

Send button on Form 2:

Code:

Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2(varAssignToTOFIL,"Action-Leave Request of " & varRequestorTOFIL, "A new <a href='https://apps.powerapps.com/play/d7497616-4c59-445d-912c-aa191ff3a797?tenantId=xxxxx-axx-xxx-8cac-xxx..." &varEmpID & "&Screen=Extra'>Extra Hours Worked request</a> is pending your action.");

Navigate(HomeScreen_Employee);

Application On Start:

Code:

If(varEmpID<>0 & Param("Screen")=Leave, Set(varRecord,LookUp(LeaveRequest,ID=varEmpID)); Navigate(DetailedRequest3));
If(varEmpID<>0 & Param("Screen")=Extra, Set(varRecordExtra,LookUp('Extra Hours Clocked_2',ID=varEmpID));Navigate(DetailedRequestExtraHrs);

Many Thanks for any help given.

Hi @Jo_25 ,

Looking at your outbound URL, the first example seems to be missing the first parameter and also the opening quote on the screen parameter. The other issue is the quote you need on the end of the URL, when there is already one there from the string parameter. You can try the below

 "A new <a href='https://apps.powerapps.com/play/d7497616-4c59-445d-912c-aa191ff3a797?tenantId=xxxxx-axx-xxxx-8cac-xxx&EmpID=" & varEmpID & "&Screen='Leave'" & "'>leave request</a> is pending your action.")

but if this does not work, set a Variable beforehand

UpdateContext(
   {
      varLink:
      "https://apps.powerapps.com/play/d7497616-4c59-445d-912c-aa191ff3a797?tenantId=xxxxx-axx-xxxx-8cac-xxx&EmpID=" & varEmpID & "&Screen='Leave'"
   }
)

then your code

 "A new <a href='" & varLink & "'>leave request</a> is pending your action.")
