Delegable formula for searching substring IN string in a filter

Hi, I would like to apologize for starting yet another thread about delegation, but I am unable to figure out this specific problem alone.

I need to set up a filter which will check if a user is part of a set of set of user objects in a Sharepoint list column (in a "users and groups" type of columun with multiple objects allowed).

Since that incurred into delegation problems, I added a column contaning only a list of concatenated user emails ("string" type of column), and set out to use the "in" operator to search for a substring (the user email) in a string (the list of emails).

It says here that the "in" operator is delegable.

Here's the code:

SortByColumns(
	If(isAdmin;
	   If(filtraadmin;
		Filter('helpdesk-ticketing';
		  useremail in assegnato_lista;  // PROBLEM'S RIGHT HERE
		  StartsWith(Problema; TextSearchBox1.Text)
		);
		Filter('helpdesk-ticketing';
		  'helpdesk-ticketing'
		  StartsWith(Problema; TextSearchBox1.Text)
		);
	    );
	    //notAdmin
	    Filter('helpdesk-ticketing';
		  'Richiesto da'.Email = useremail;
		  StartsWith(Problema; TextSearchBox1.Text)
	    )
	);
    "ticket";
    If(SortDescending1; Descending; Ascending)
)

I specifically avoided using nested Filters.

The useremail variable is a simple string.

The assegnato_lista column contains simple strings.

The code works, but I get a delegation warning.

Can you suggest any work-arounds?

If I keep this code and therefore get only a subset of 500 records, which 500 records are they going to be? The newest 500? The oldest 500?

Thank you

Hi @val43 ,

Alright I got what you mean, I just tested and got the same delegation warning. Please consider to submit an idea for this:

Re: Delegable formula for searching substring IN string in a filter

Hi @val43 ,

It seems that delegation for multiple-selected person and group is not supported so far. Please consider to add an idea in below forum:

Re: Delegable formula for searching substring IN string in a filter

mmm ok..

but shouldn't the IN operator work on strings?

Filter(my-list, a-string in this-column-of-longer-strings)

Re: Delegable formula for searching substring IN string in a filter

Hi @val43 ,

But if it is a multiple-selected person and group column, then it is actually a table value for this column, not a string.

Re: Delegable formula for searching substring IN string in a filter

TITLE: "searching substring IN string in a filter"

"I added a column contaning only a list of concatenated user emails ("string" type of column)"

"The assegnato_lista column contains simple strings."

As I had already stated in the first message,

I added another column, on purpose, and this column contains a SIMPLE STRING

Again, this is what I'm trying to achieve:

"Filter(my-list, a-string in this-column-of-longer-strings)"

Thank you for your attention
