Delegation limit even with delegable functions

Hi all,

I had a filter expression that had delegation warnings and I had issues when the record count was higher than the limit (as expected). However, even after revising the function to be delegable, my record count is dependent on the delegation limit, which is super weird.

Has anyone ran into the same issue? I can provide more details if needed.

Hi @PowerAddict ,

That's strange...

Do you have delegation warning when you only use delegateable functions?

Could you tell me

1)what is your data source?

2)your formula?

Different data sources have different delegateable functions.

You not only need to notice the delegatable functions, but also need to notice data type.

Hi @v-yutliu-msft

It is indeed very strange. Data source is CDS. Formula is something like this (has been generalized for the sake of sharing and a few OR conditions similar to the ones listed here have been removed for simplicity):

SortByColumns(
AddColumns(
Filter(
AddColumns(
Entity,
"Column1Text",
Text('Column1'),
"Column2Text",
Text('Column2')
),
IsBlank(Dropdown.Selected.Value) = true || Column6 = Dropdown.Selected.Value,
),
"Column3Text",
Text('Column3')
),
"Column4",
Ascending,
"Column5",
Descending
)

I have typically been able to solve for delegation issues especially with CDS but this one is weird because there are no delegation warnings. As I change the limit value, I can see the record count in my gallery changing to match that of the limit.

Thanks!

Hi @v-yutliu-msft,

Any ideas or updates? Seems like an issue/bug to me.
