Delete single information in Gallery

Hello,

i have a Gallery with a List as datasource.

For Example:

NameAgePlace of birthSize
Jack39New Jersey180
Lisa22Kentucky156

It is possible to delete just a single information instead of the complete record?

So i want just delete the information about the age and size by Jack, but the Place of birth should be untouched.

With

Remove(Datasource;ThisItem)

the whole record will be deleted...

Thanks for any help

Hi @PowerAppUser98

Do you want to delete some fields in the table?
You can loop over them with ForAll() and filter out what you want.

ForAll(OrderStatus,If(ThisRecord.Title="A",{Title:Title,Ordernummer:Ordernummer,Orderdatum:"",Orderstatus:""},{Title:Title,Ordernummer:Ordernummer,Orderdatum:Orderdatum,Orderstatus:Orderstatus}))

Hi @PowerAppUser98

If you want to do this update base on the selected gallery, you can just Put an Update Icon inside the gallery.

on select property of the Icon, You can use UpdateIf function to streamline what you want to do exactly.

UpdateIf(Datasource, Name = GalleryName.Selected.Name,
{ Age: " " ,

Size: " "

});
Refresh(Datasource)

if the Fields are number Data type, just put Age : Blank() & Size: Blank()

i don't know if you have understood my question correctly, try to explain it again with an example

This is how my datasource (list) look like (simplified)

It should be an assignment with different tasks

AssignmentNr:    Workflow1         Workflow2          Workflow3         Workflow4          Workflow5          Workflow6

Assignment01Task1Task2Task3Task4Task5Task6

PowerAppUser98_0-1667996358739.png

Now i have a gallery to visualize it but just with a few amount of data, like this

PowerAppUser98_1-1667996520728.png

These 3 Tasks are completed and can be storaged or deleted, but just these 3 Task of the Aissignment01 should be deleted. I tried this:

Remove(Datasource;ThisItem)

But the app delete the whole Assignment01 item, but i just wanted to delete Task1,Task2 and Task3.

In the best case the data source should look like this in the end

PowerAppUser98_2-1667996802357.png

i hope it is more understandable what my problem is

Hi @PowerAppUser98 , you cant remove records selectively using :::: Remove(Datasource, ThisItem). it wont work. it would only remove the whole record. thats what REMOVE does.

But to remove the value of some selected fields, you will have to use UPDATE FUNCTION. Removing values in a record is also UPDATE.

Answer this for me... This Record you can see it in a Gallery right?, if you can, UPDATE is the best bet for you.

Try this function and lets see if it works or not.

UpdateIf(Datasource, Name = GalleryName.Selected.Name,
{ Age: " " ,

Size: " "

});
Refresh(Datasource)

if the Fields are number Data type, just put Age : Blank() & Size: Blank().

I hope you understand what am trying to say.

Hey, @PowerAppUser98 i recreated the scenario myself, using the update function, and it worked succesfully.

Look at the attached GIF, and i see the live action.

I hope this gives you a clue.

Yea it is.

Sorry for missunderstanding, im relative new to this topic.

Can you explain what the Code does, i dont get it...

UpdateIf(Datasource, Name = GalleryName.Selected.Name,
{ Age: " " ,

Size: " "

});
Refresh(Datasource)

do i have to put this on the onselect command of an additional button?

Hi @PowerAppUser98 Yes it will be on the Onselect command of additional Icon you added.

you just put the icon inside the gallery. it would automatically work for the any selected record you want to make the change to. look at the GIF i sent, you will notice that the delete icon was placed inside the gallery.,

you can send me the snapshot of your gallery so that i can show you where to put it. if you dont get it clearly.

Let me know if it works and accept it as solution.

The code works but i got the problem that he delete the whole column of all records

NameAgeSizePlace of birth
Maik68180USA
Luis67150Germany
Jack34145China
Peter23167Netherlands
Susane65198Canada
UpdateIf(Datasource;ThisItem.Peter=Gallery4_62.Selected.Peter; {'Age)': " " })

He will delete the whole Age Row not escpecially for Peter (for example)
