Deleting all locally store images create by Power apps (com.microsoft.msapp>files>DCIM)

Hi there,

I'm a total PowerApps newbie. The place where I work have a few powerapps that take pictures and these get stored on the devices (android device) in com.microsoft.msapp>files>DCIM

I am trying to write an app (standalone, can't be button in existing app) that will delete all the images that were stored. This seems a lot harder than I thought it would be. So before I continue spending more time on this, can any one tell me if this is even possible. Any hints or even a flat-out "nope can't be done" would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Niels

Hey @Niels1

I'm pretty sure it's a flat nope - when Power Apps uses your camera to take pictures it is Literally using your Camera and its ability to store on the device functionality which is why it goes into DCIM, then it reads from that (can't give more details than that as I don't think there's more detailed info available).

Have had this thought myself before and looked into it, as I wanted a local library of images or files that could be managed on the device, but it wasn't possible at the time (6 months ago?) - don't think anything has changed since then.

If anyone else has another answer I would be glad to hear it but with a native Power App I do not believe this is possible,

Kind Regards,

Sancho

Thanks for saving me a lot of time. I've trying to make something work for about a day and I didn't manage to delete a single file!

Guess I will be looking at a different solution.
