Depented dropdown can't be saved in sharepoint list

Dear All,

I have 2 SP list:

- LCIP (Master SP)

- EMEA Plants (The list where i pull data of plants country and code from)

According to the instructions of below link i proceeded every step:

https://docs.microsoft.com/tr-tr/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/dependent-drop-down-lists

I am able to pull the data from EMEA Plants list, they are available in my LCIP app but can't save them in masterlist. There are many subject concerning the same issue i checked all of them but can't manage to fix it. Details are as follow:

I guess there is problem on plantcode but can't figure it out since i am beginner on powerapps.

Can you please review and assist me to sort it out?

Thanks

Ogun

Re: Depented dropdown can't be saved in sharepoint list

Hi @Ogun_ustun ,

Please set plantcountry datacard's Update:

plantcountry drop down name.Selected.Result

//Distinct function will return a table with Result column

set plantcode drop down's Items:

Filter('EMEA Plants',plantcountry=plantcountry drop down name.Selected.Result)

Could you tell me which column in 'EMEA Plants' do you want to use to update plantcode column?

set plantcode data card 's Update:

plantcode drop down name.Selected.fieldname

Well, you could insert a label, set the label's Text:

plantcode drop down name.Selected.fieldname

If the label could display value successfully, then the result that the formula returns is text type.

Re: Depented dropdown can't be saved in sharepoint list

Hi @Ogun_ustun ,

Could you tell me the items of plantcountry, plantcode drop downs?

Are you sure the drop down's name is plantcodedatacard?

You should set the plantcode's datacard's Update like this:

drop down name.Selected.Value

What's more, you need to make sure the result that datacard's Update return is text type.

Or else it will not update successfully.

Re: Depented dropdown can't be saved in sharepoint list

@v-yutliu-msft

You can find the item details of the cards of plantcountry & plantcode as following:

Especial i cant see any plantcode details on the formula of the item of plantcode. Do you think it is a problem?

On  the other hand how i can sure that the result that datacard's Update return is text type.?

Thanks
