Deserializing JSON from custom connector is super slow

I have a custom connector to a web API which is returning roughly 60k of json data that really just a matrix of numbers about 30 x 100 in shape.

My issue is that PowerApps is taking ~1500ms to deserialize this into a collection which is an inordinate amount of time given the entire round trip is about 300ms up to that point.

So I dont really have a question as such, just wondering if anyone is familiar with the mechanics behind the deserializer being used and how I can boost its performance. maybe the data can be organized better for example.

@camer314

How is it that you are deserializing your JSON?  PowerApps does not have the capability to deserialize JSON, so perhaps whatever you have implemented to deserialize is the fault?

@RandyHayes ,

This is serialization that occurs coming back from a custom connector using a schema
