Desk reservation app by April Dunnam - not showing only available desks

Hello, I've  downloaded April Dunnam's Desk Reservation app, followed the instructions, created lists and hooked them up. There are no errors in the app. However I find that I am able to double book the desks. 

Here you can see I have 3 desks booked for 21 June and that Desk 1 is booked twice.

Yet all 4 desks are still showing up on the 'select a desk' screen for that date.

I am using this filter in items

I haven't changed anything apart from the list names, which I have adjusted throughout, I so am at a bit of a loss on how to proceed.
I've downloaded it again, just in case I accidently changed something but the same thing happens. 
I know this is a popular app - and lots of people have it working - so it must be something I've done.  
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Vicki

Thanks for that. I cannot see anything wrong in your code but then I also cannot see the entire code in your app.

 

Because you have said that all you have changed are the List names, maybe try searching your app to make sure ALL instances of these names have been updated. The new Search function is very handy for this, ie

If you don't see this search icon in the LHS menu pane then add it via

 

File --> Settings --> Upcoming Features --> Turn On 'Search'

 

Then search for 'Reservations' and 'Desks'

 

Another thing you could try is check that the startTime and endTime variables are getting set correctly. Just place some labels on your screen and when these are set check they are correct because if these aren't working then the Filter won't be filtering anything out - which is what it is designed to do

 

Give these things a go and see what you come up with

@Victoria 

That filter used isn't delegable so have you checked the following:

- Max Row limit in Settings set to 2000, and

- Your 'Reservations1' list holds less than 2000 items

Hi. Thanks for looking into this. I've done as you suggest but sadly the app is still not preventing me from double booking - It's not hiding the booked desks.


I changed my list names slightly and although I adjusted and have no errors, in the app, I was wondering if there might be somewhere else in the code where the lists are refenced, maybe a collection or combo box? Presumably it must be an issue with the desk selection screen. 


I can do the basics with PAs but this app draws from two lists, so it's a little more complex than I am used to.
If anyone can shed any light I'd be grateful. Thanks Vicki

You haven't said if your data source is more than 2000 records, is it?

 

EDIT: Also, can you provide a screen shot of your Desk1 list and provide the data type of the field you've added called 'Active'

There are only 6 records on my Reservations 1 list. Here is my Desks1 list.

That worked! I found a couple of instances of the former list name in the Appt and Reservations screens. I didn't know about the search facility. That's super helpful.

Yep it’s handy alright. There’s also a new Find & Replace option, Reza Dorrani has a video explain both of these.
