Different databases for diffrent users

Hello all,

In my App i want to make collections from excel files depending in which user group the user is.

I do this by creating an excel file in which I specify in which group a user is and then use a If( and LookUp( to load the right excel file into the collection.

This works fine, I only have one problem...

Obviously I only want to share the excel file with the users in the group, but the app tries to load all excel files.

This is in usage not a problem, because the files where the person doesnt have access to is not used, but it generates red error messages, that the files cant be accessed when I open up the app. This doesnt look very nice to the user.

Is there either a better way to distinguish between user groups or is there a way to disable the error messages?

Here is the code I used for better understanding of what im doing:

ClearCollect(CollectionGroups; Table1);;
Set(varGroup; LookUp(CollectionGroups; User().Email in Worker; Affiliation));;
If(varGroup = "1"; (Refresh(Table1_1) & Refresh(Table1_3) & Refresh(Tabelle1)) ;; ClearCollect(CollectPreferences; Table1_1) ;; ClearCollect(CollectLocation;Table1_3));;
If(varGroup = "2"; (Refresh(Table1_2) & Refresh(Table1_4) & Refresh(Tabelle1_1)) ;; ClearCollect(CollectPreferences; Table1_2) ;; ClearCollect(CollectLocation;Table1_4))

Help is appreciated 🙂

Re: Different databases for diffrent users

Hi @Thom89 ,

So far there is no way to disable the error if users do not have all permissions for all data sources included in this app and you cannot decide which data source to be loaded inside the app. So basically, your requirement cannot be achieved so far. You could try to add an idea in below forum so that it might be considered for future release.
